Police in Bhojpur have arrested five members of an inter-district bike theft gang and recovered five stolen motorcycles.
The operation was led by Raj Kumar Shah under the guidance of the Bhojpur SP, with support from Devraj Rai. The team was specifically constituted to address the rising incidents of bike theft in the district.
The arrested individuals include Sonu Shukla, Pintu Kumar, Mahendra Kumar, Motilal Kumar, and Shyambabu Rai alias Lalu.
According to SDPO Raj Kumar Shah, Sonu Shukla, a resident of a village under the Dhobahan police station, had stolen a motorcycle belonging to a health worker at Ara Sadar Hospital. Based on information provided by him during interrogation, the police were able to track down and arrest the other four accused.
The gang reportedly stole motorcycles and sold them across different districts of Bihar. Police are continuing the investigation to determine if there are more victims or additional gang members involved in similar thefts.
