NEW BERN, N.C. — Two men from New Bern are facing multiple felony drug charges following a search warrant executed by the Neuse River Narcotics Task Force, according to the Craven County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said the warrant was carried out on Feb. 12 at a residence on West A Street after an ongoing narcotics investigation. During the search, authorities seized 38 grams of methamphetamine, 5 grams of cocaine, and 9 pounds of marijuana.
Sonny Sachel Morris Jr., 36, who resides at the home, is charged with:
Felony trafficking methamphetamine
Two counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance
Two counts of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance
Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver a Schedule VI controlled substance
Possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance
Maintaining a dwelling for the sale of a controlled substance
Sanarrious Anthony Morris, 19, is charged with:
Felony trafficking methamphetamine
Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance
Possession of a Schedule II controlled substance
Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver marijuana
Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver a Schedule VI controlled substance
Possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance
Maintaining a vehicle and dwelling for the sale of a controlled substance
Simple possession of Schedule II and VI controlled substances
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Sonny Morris Jr. is being held at the Craven County Confinement Facility under a $175,000 secured bond, while Sanarrious Morris remains held without bond. Deputies noted that Sanarrious Morris was already out on bond for felony possession of a stolen firearm, breaking and entering, and resisting a public officer at the time of the arrest.
