In a significant crackdown on narcotics, the Prohibition and Excise Department arrested two individuals at Hyderabad’s Kacheguda railway station for possession of a large quantity of high-grade illegal drugs. The operation, led by Sub-Inspector Sandhya, intercepted a car and a motorcycle where officers found several narcotics being exchanged.
Excise Enforcement Joint Commissioner Syed Yasin Qureshi disclosed during a press briefing on Wednesday that the arrested suspects were Pratheesh Bhat, a real estate firm manager, and Jaisurya, a software engineer. The seized contraband included 500 grams of OG Kush, one kilogram of ganja, six grams of charas, 4.38 grams of synthetic hash, and five bottles of imported liquor, collectively valued at over Rs40 lakh.
Officials revealed that the narcotics were sourced from neighboring Karnataka. The authorities are continuing their probe to uncover any larger drug trafficking network linked to this seizure.
