CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) — A long-running investigation into a high-end car theft ring in Northeast Ohio has resulted in six indictments, Cleveland Police announced Wednesday.
According to Sgt. Wilfredo Diaz, the investigation began in March 2023, when Cleveland Police partnered with the FBI to probe a string of luxury vehicle thefts in the area. Authorities say the suspects are linked to a wider organized criminal network operating throughout the region and potentially beyond.
The group is facing charges under Ohio’s “engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity” statute, which is Ohio’s version of the federal RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations) Act.
Those Indicted:
Gregory Orr, 21
J’Kwon Burley, 21
Michael Gadomski Jr., 20
Jerrel Smith, 20
Tyshawn Morris, 20
Jamarieon Williams, 21
Police said charges against the individuals vary and include serious felonies connected to the organized theft of high-end vehicles. Investigators reportedly uncovered a coordinated operation involving vehicle theft, transport, and resale—sometimes across state lines.
Ongoing Investigation
Authorities say the investigation remains active, and more arrests or charges may be forthcoming. The joint task force continues to examine how far-reaching the network’s operations extended.
