In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, six individuals were arrested in Udhampur and Samba districts of Jammu and Kashmir for allegedly peddling heroin.
The arrests were made during a coordinated operation by local police forces, targeting multiple locations. The accused have been identified as Mahandeep Singh, Suresh Kumar, Vikram Kumar, Ram Puri, Dhananjay Partap, and Farman Ali.
Police recovered 10.27 grams of heroin from Mahandeep Singh, 1.54 grams from Suresh Kumar, and 5.74 grams from Vikram Kumar. In addition, Ram Puri and Dhananjay Partap were found with over 7 grams each, while Farman Ali had 9.70 grams in his possession.
All six have been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigations are underway to trace the supply chain and connections involved in these drug-related activities.
Authorities stressed that these arrests are part of ongoing efforts to curb narcotics distribution in the region.
