Khopoli Police apprehended six burglars involved in a shop burglary at Takai Phata, recovering stolen goods and vehicles valued at over Rs. 8.1 lakh.

The theft occurred on July 3 between 2:00 AM and 3:00 AM at a shop owned by Ramchandra Bhik Raskar. The burglars gained entry through an open rear window and stole Polycab electric cables worth around Rs. 3.2 lakh. A case was promptly registered under Sections 305(a) and 35 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, at Khopoli Police Station.

Following directives from Superintendent of Police Aanchal Dalal, Deputy Superintendent of Police Vikram Kadam led the investigation. PSI Abhijit Vharamble and his team scrutinized CCTV footage from 20 locations and analyzed mobile data, which helped trace the stolen Bajaj autorickshaw (MH-04/LX-1846) used in the crime.

On July 4, 34-year-old Zuber Ehsan Shaikh from Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, was arrested. His interrogation revealed the identities and hideouts of his accomplices, who were tracked across Pune, Nashik, and Gujarat. With assistance from Ankleshwar Police, three more suspects were detained, and another was caught in Kalyan-Shilphata.

The stolen goods were sold to Siraujuddin Ibaratulla Khan, arrested in Chikhli, Pune, with the stolen items recovered.

The six arrested include Zuber Ehsan Shaikh, Alam Yusuf Maniyar, Deepak Kapildev Tiwari, Ramvilas Chiknu Yadav, Zuber Bahab Memon, and Siraujuddin Ibaratulla Khan, all with prior criminal records.

Recovered items include various bundles of electric cables, copper lugs, a PLC controller, and programming cables, totaling Rs. 3,20,500 in value. Two vehicles — a white Tata Yodha pickup truck (MH-14/JL-0482) worth Rs. 4,00,000 and a stolen Bajaj autorickshaw worth Rs. 90,000 — were also seized.

The total value of recovered property and vehicles stands at Rs. 8,10,500.

The operation was led by SP Aanchal Dalal with support from Additional SP Abhijeet Shivthare, DySP Vikram Kadam, and officers from Khopoli Police Station.
