The Punjab Police have arrested six individuals in connection with the brutal triple murder that took place in Ferozepur on September 3. The victims—Jaspreet Kaur (26), her brother Dildeep Singh, and Akashdeep Singh (23)—were shot dead near a gurdwara in Ferozepur. This significant breakthrough followed a joint operation by the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of Punjab Police, the Maharashtra Police, and central agencies.

The six accused shooters, identified as Gurpreet Singh from Chohla Sahib (Tarn Taran), Prince from Kunde village (Ferozepur), and Ravinder Singh, Sukhchain Singh, Akshay, and Rajbeer Singh from Basti Bagh Wali (Ferozepur), were apprehended in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. According to Punjab’s Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav, all six individuals are associates of Ashish Chopra, a fugitive hiding abroad with a fake passport. They have extensive criminal records, including charges of murder, attempted murder, robbery, drug trafficking, and violations under the Arms Act. Gurpreet Singh, in particular, had been declared a proclaimed offender in two separate cases.

The shooting occurred when Jaspreet Kaur, accompanied by her relatives, was leaving a gurdwara to invite guests for her upcoming wedding. The six shooters, riding two motorcycles, opened fire on the car as the victims got in. Four of the accused were armed and fired multiple rounds, killing Jaspreet instantly and injuring the others. Dildeep and Akashdeep later succumbed to their injuries, while Anmolpreet Singh, Jaspreet’s brother, was rushed to a hospital in Ludhiana.

The police investigation reveals that the triple murder was likely the result of an ongoing feud between two criminal gangs. Sources suggest that Dildeep Singh, one of the victims, had a criminal record and had been recently released on parole. His criminal background may have contributed to the tragic incident, as the attack was rooted in inter-gang rivalry.

The arrested individuals are now in police custody, and further investigation is ongoing. The joint efforts of multiple police agencies have been lauded for solving the case, which was initially shrouded in mystery.
