Six Arrested for Burglary at Pankapal Durga Mandap in Odisha

Brass utensils and valuables stolen spark outrage in Kujang

Six individuals have been arrested for allegedly burglarizing the Pankapal Durga Mandap in Kujang, Jagatsinghpur district, Odisha. The accused reportedly stole brass utensils and other valuables from the Durga Mandap, causing widespread anger among devotees.

The case was registered after a complaint by Pankapal Durga Puja Committee president Ashutosh Kantha on Sunday. Following a thorough investigation, Kujang police arrested 21-year-old Prasanta Kumar Sahoo from the locality. Based on his confession, five others were also apprehended.

The accused have been identified as Subrat Das (28), Sagar Pradhan (19), Pravanjan Nayak, Jagannath Parida (38), and Manoj Pradhan (19). They have been booked under Sections 111 (2) (b), 331 (4), and 305 (a) of the BNS.
