ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Authorities have arrested 20-year-old Sincer Burns in connection with the deadly shooting of 22-year-old Darian Bunnell on January 18, 2025, in Rockford.
The incident occurred at approximately 2:45 p.m. in the 4800 block of Javelin Drive. Bunnell was transported to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead that evening at 10:53 p.m.
Following an investigation, Burns was identified as a suspect. Police arrested him on Thursday, February 20th. Burns now faces two counts of First Degree Murder in connection with the shooting.
He was booked into the Winnebago County Jail and is awaiting a pretrial detention hearing.
