SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) — A 25-year-old West Springfield man, Shyloe Harris, was arrested Friday evening after crashing a stolen dirt bike and attempting to evade police in Springfield.

According to authorities, around 6:30 p.m., officers spotted Harris riding a dirt bike recklessly near Main Street and Belmont Avenue. When they attempted a traffic stop, Harris fled toward East Longmeadow. Police did not pursue due to safety concerns.

A few hours later, Harris returned to Springfield and crashed the dirt bike on Hiawatha Street. Officers located him hiding in a nearby garage, where he was taken into custody without further incident.

Investigators later determined the dirt bike had been reported stolen from Sunderland.

Harris now faces multiple charges, which have not yet been fully detailed by authorities.
