PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. — Palm Beach Gardens police arrested a woman Saturday evening in connection with an alleged large-scale retail theft, according to booking records.
The suspect, Shunta Lavaya McGrady, a Black female, was taken into custody under Report No. 89374, with the arrest recorded at 6:45 p.m. on December 28, 2025. The case was filed by the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department.
Authorities allege that McGrady committed retail theft valued at $750 or more, or coordinated with others to commit retail theft, a felony-level offense under Florida law. Investigators have not released additional details regarding the retailer involved, the merchandise allegedly stolen, or whether other suspects are connected to the case.
The arrest record did not list McGrady’s date of birth, and authorities did not immediately disclose whether she was released on bond or held pending a first appearance hearing.
Retail theft cases involving higher dollar thresholds or organized activity have drawn increasing attention from law enforcement across Palm Beach County, with officials citing rising financial losses and coordinated theft operations targeting local businesses.
As with all criminal cases, the charge is an allegation, and McGrady is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
