Shubham Awasthi Booked for Fake Medical Degree Scam in Jabalpur

Ex-BJP Medical Cell Co-Convenor Faces Cheating Charges

Just days after a fake cardiologist scandal shook Damoh in Madhya Pradesh, a new case has surfaced in Jabalpur involving Shubham Awasthi, a 40-year-old former BJP district medical cell co-convener. Awasthi has been booked for cheating after allegedly practicing at Seth Govind Das District Hospital using a fake Ayush degree.

The FIR was officially registered on April 5, two days before the arrest of a fake cardiologist accused of causing the deaths of seven patients in Damoh. According to Civil Lines police station in-charge Nehru Singh Khandate, the FIR followed a Judicial Magistrate First Class order dated February 14, and the case is currently under investigation.

The BJP acknowledged Awasthi’s previous association with the party but confirmed he was removed from his position two years ago amid earlier allegations. Ashwini Trivedi, state BJP media cell co-convener, said, “He was relieved from his post two years ago.” Jabalpur BJP president Ratnesh Sonkar reiterated the party’s stance, stating, “The BJP doesn’t tolerate such things.”
