Shodan Arrested for Stealing Ambulance in Dakshina Kannada

Stolen Ambulance Recovered by Uppinangady Police

The Uppinangady Police have arrested Shodan (22), a resident of Karkala in Udupi district, in connection with the theft of an ambulance near the Gundya check post in Dakshina Kannada district. The stolen vehicle was successfully recovered with the assistance of the Hassan district police.

The victim, Suresh (46) from Shiradi in Kadaba taluk, works as an ambulance driver. On the night of December 19, he parked the ambulance at its usual spot near the check post, leaving the key inside for convenience in case of emergency calls. The next morning, he discovered the vehicle had been stolen.

Following the complaint, Uppinangady Police registered a case under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023 and launched an investigation. During the probe, Shodan was traced to Hassan, apprehended, interrogated, and presented before the court.

Authorities have confirmed the ambulance has been recovered and further investigation is ongoing.
