In a significant breakthrough in the fight against narcotics, Shimla police have arrested three individuals implicated in the illicit heroin trade across the district. The accused are Rahul Sharma (32) from Bandli village, Kotkhai Tehsil; Harsh Dhanta (30) from Magauta village, Jubbal Tehsil; and Aniket Bragta (26) from Gorli village, Chopal Tehsil.

This development comes as part of an ongoing investigation stemming from the earlier arrest of Rohit Dhiman (37) of Bahina village, Hamirpur district. On July 5, Dhiman was caught near Gumma in Kotkhai with 15.61 grams of heroin while seated in a parked car. A case was promptly registered at Kotkhai Police Station under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Following extensive investigation involving tracing financial transactions and linkages, police identified Sharma, Dhanta, and Bragta as key suspects. The trio was apprehended from various locations across Shimla district.

Police officials confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and indicated that more arrests are expected as the case unfolds.
