Shimla Police have arrested nine drug peddlers in multiple cases, recovering around 57 grams of chitta (heroin). The accused include residents from Meghalaya, Uttar Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh.
In the first case, a Meghalaya woman and a UP resident were caught with 50.34 grams of chitta. They have been identified as Purnima Lampag (34), of Ri Bhoi district, Meghalaya, and Nityam Dhir (32), of Sector 151, Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
In a separate case registered at Kumarsain police station, two men were arrested with 2.3 grams of chitta. The accused are Sachin Shyam (34), resident of Banoga village, Nankhari Tehsil, Shimla, and Aarush Mehta (24), from Noon village, Kumarsain Tehsil, Shimla.
Additionally, five other individuals were detained with 4.7 grams of chitta in Kumarsain. They have been identified as:
Mushtaq Ali (25), Bhadrash, Rampur Tehsil
Mashum Ali (23), Bhadrash, Rampur Tehsil
Ravinder Kumar (37), Bahli village, Kumarsain
Kishan Kumar (31), Bahli village, Kumarsain
Ravinder Kumar (44), Duttnagar, Rampur
Shimla Police continue their investigation into the distribution network and connections of the accused, aiming to curb drug trafficking in the region.
