In a shocking case of deception and theft, three young women—identified as Shilpi (19), Rajni (27), and Neha Samalty (25)—have been arrested by Delhi Police for robbing a doctor’s home in Model Town, north-west Delhi.
Police revealed that the women meticulously planned the heist after Shilpi created a fake identity and secured a job as a live-in maid at the victim’s residence. The group’s motive was to raise money quickly—one of them needed cash to pay for a job placement.
The alleged mastermind, Rajni, holds an LLB degree and, along with Shilpi from Meerut and Neha from Saharanpur, orchestrated the robbery.
The incident occurred on June 12 when the doctor returned home and found Rs30 lakh in cash and an iPhone missing. He immediately called the police, stating that the maid, who identified herself as Tanveer Kaur, had disappeared with the valuables.
A case was filed under Section 306 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for theft by a servant. Sub-inspector Ravi Saini led the investigation team, which analyzed CCTV footage and conducted technical surveillance to track down the suspects.
All three women were arrested from Uttar Pradesh and are now in police custody.
