In a major breakthrough, the anti-burglary squad of the crime branch has arrested five men from Madhya Pradesh involved in a string of thefts across Nagpur. The arrests solve five recent crimes, including four house burglaries and one vehicle theft.
The operation began after Kalpana Thul (60), a caretaker from Nagvanshi Budh Vihar in Ambazari, reported a burglary at her home. On the night of July 2–3, thieves broke in and stole Rs1.3 lakh in cash and gold ornaments worth Rs1.7 lakh. Ambazari Police registered a case.
Based on technical surveillance and tip-offs, the crime branch apprehended:

Deepak Singh Barnala (24)
Prakash Singh Kalma (20)
Gurucharan Singh Juneja (23)
Mohan Singh Chawla (20)
All five hail from Madhya Pradesh and confessed to the Ambazari burglary as well as crimes in Imamwada, Kotwali, Sakkardara, and Murtijapur (Akola).
Recovered from the accused were stolen items including:
Gold ornaments
Mobile phones
Rs7,000 in cash
A stolen black Unicorn motorcycle
The total value of recovered property is estimated at Rs88,200.
All accused and seized goods were handed over to Ambazari Police for further investigation and prosecution.
