Shelly Jones, Eric Webb Arrested in Colma Home Depot Scam

Pair accused of theft and return fraud, police report

COLMA, CA — A man and woman were arrested Friday in Colma after allegedly stealing items from Home Depot and attempting to return them for cash, according to police.

At approximately 2:47 p.m., officers from the Colma Police Department responded to the Home Depot at 2 Colma Blvd. following a report of two individuals attempting return fraud.

When officers arrived, they detained Shelly Jones, 50, of San Francisco, and Eric Webb, 34, of Pleasant Hill. Police determined the pair had stolen merchandise and then tried to return it for a refund.

During a search, officers also found drug paraphernalia in Jones’ possession.

Jones was arrested for theft by false pretenses, conspiracy to commit a crime, and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. Webb was arrested for theft by false pretenses and conspiracy.

Both suspects were issued citations and released following their arrests, according to the Colma Police Department.
