A Moberly man, Shawn McGee, has been sentenced to 10 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections after being convicted of possessing child pornography.
Court records show McGee was sentenced on Monday in Randolph County on a single count of possession of child pornography. In February, he entered an Alford plea—acknowledging the prosecution’s evidence while maintaining his innocence.
McGee, a former volunteer with the Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland, was originally charged with child sex crimes in October 2021. According to prior reporting from KOMU 8, investigators discovered over 20 images of child sexual abuse on McGee’s computer.
