Shawn Fielhauer Arrested for Copper Wire Theft in Shreveport

Charged with felony theft, weapons offense, and more

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) — A man with multiple outstanding warrants has been arrested for stealing copper wire from utility poles in Shreveport, according to Caddo Parish Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr.

Deputies were dispatched to the Flournoy Lucas area around 3:30 a.m. on July 10 after reports of a suspicious man possibly attempting home break-ins. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a bag containing burglary tools and roughly 300 feet of cut AT&T copper wire taken from several nearby poles.

A witness reported seeing a man dressed in black fleeing the scene into a large field along Stevens Road. Using drone technology, Sgt. Brian Johnson and Deputy Aaron Normand located the suspect hiding in nearby woods near Wrenwood Boulevard.

The man, identified as 26-year-old Shawn Fielhauer, was arrested and transported to the Caddo Correctional Center. He was booked on the following charges:

Felony theft

Simple criminal damage to property

Illegal carrying of weapons

Authorities also discovered that Fielhauer had multiple active warrants, including for:

Felony theft

Illegal possession of stolen things

Carnal knowledge of a juvenile

Failure to register as a sex offender

The investigation remains ongoing as deputies assess the full scope of the damage and potential additional charges.
