The J.P. Nagar police have arrested a 44-year-old domestic help, Shanthi Alias Ayesha, for allegedly stealing gold valuables worth Rs14.3 lakh from the house where she was employed six months ago.
Shanthi was working in the residence of a private school teacher. The family had recently worn gold valuables during a relative’s marriage in January. According to police, Shanthi took advantage of this occasion to access the home safe and steal the items.
The theft was discovered on May 17, when the family opened the safe and found the valuables missing. Suspicious of the domestic help’s involvement, they filed a complaint, leading to her arrest.
