WARREN COUNTY, Miss. (VDN) — A Warren County man has been arrested and charged with statutory rape following an investigation led by the Warren County Sheriff’s Department.
Shane Anthony Standish, 25, was identified as the suspect in a case involving sexual activity with a child under the age of 16, according to Sheriff Martin Pace. Investigator Dusty Keyes led the investigation, which resulted in a warrant being issued for Standish’s arrest.
A BOLO (be on the lookout) was released, and on the morning of May 24, Deputies Drew Clemts and Milton Goza spotted Standish’s vehicle on Highway 61 North near the Warren–Issaquena County line. He was taken into custody without incident.
Standish appeared before Judge Randy Lewis on May 27, where his bond was set at $100,000. Judge Lewis also ordered that Standish must wear an ankle monitor if he posts bond.
Due to the sensitive nature of the case, Sheriff Pace declined to provide further details but did confirm that the victim was known to Standish.
