Shakyra Brand Arrested for Manslaughter After Deadly Argument

MARLBORO COUNTY, S.C. – A South Carolina woman is facing manslaughter charges after an argument turned deadly in McColl over the weekend.

According to the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office, Shakyra Brand was arrested on Tuesday in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred Saturday morning on New Bridge Road.

Investigation and Arrest
Deputies responded to reports of a shooting incident and launched an investigation, gathering statements, evidence, and autopsy results that led to Brand’s arrest.

Authorities have not yet released details about the victim or the nature of the argument that led to the shooting.

Legal Proceedings
Brand was booked into the Marlboro County Detention Center and is awaiting a bond hearing in circuit court.

The sheriff’s office issued a statement, calling the case a tragic incident that resulted in “another life lost prematurely and another individual’s freedom curtailed.”
