The Hyderabad City Police have arrested five individuals in connection with the murder of Shaik Mohsin from Ghouse Nagar, Bandlaguda. The accused were produced before the court for judicial custody.

The arrested include Syed Sha Fahad (23), a cab driver from Hafez Baba Nagar; Syed Sohail (21), an auto driver from Jahangirabad, Bandlaguda; Mohammed Amer (24), an auto driver from Farooq Nagar, Falaknuma; Mohammed Bin Abdullah Saif Topi (32), an auto driver from Omer Colony, Hafeezbaba Nagar; and Shaik Afroz (30) of Bandlaguda.

Police stated that Sha Fahad and Saif had an ongoing rivalry with two individuals, Riyaz and Hashmath, who belonged to separate cow-theft gangs. These gangs held grudges against Fahad and Saif for previously sharing information with police that led to their arrests.

After members of these gangs were released on bail, they began searching for Sha Fahad and Saif to exact revenge. The deceased, Mohsin, reportedly informed Fahad and Saif about the gangs’ movements but was later suspected of secretly aiding the rival gangs. Authorities also believe Mohsin financially supported the Adil gang, responsible for murdering Sha Fahad’s cousin, Mubarak Sigar, in January 2024.

According to S Chaitanya Kumar, DCP of the South East Zone, “Sha Fahad and Saif, along with the other accused, conspired to eliminate Mohsin. On September 29 at 9 pm, they lured him out of his pan shop in Ghouse Nagar and attacked him with a sickle and knives, inflicting multiple injuries that led to his death.”
