A local court in Amroha has sentenced seven individuals, including a woman named Aksa, her father Irshad, brother Nawazish, and fiancé Mursalin, to life imprisonment for the murder of 25-year-old farmer Uwais Khan. Along with the life sentence, the court imposed a fine of Rs1.16 lakh on each convict.
The murder occurred on January 2 in the Dhakka Colony area of Amroha. Uwais Khan, from Alipur Bhud village, had been in a relationship with 22-year-old Aksa, a resident of the neighbouring Saudnangli village. However, after Aksa’s family discovered the affair, they arranged her engagement to Mursalin.
Despite the engagement, Aksa and Uwais continued their relationship. When Aksa confided the affair to Mursalin, he reportedly conspired with three friends to kill Uwais. Aksa and her family members also joined the conspiracy.
On the night of the murder, Aksa lured Uwais to her home under the pretense of giving him a new SIM card, which was a trap. Uwais was shot dead at the location.
Following the crime, police arrested all seven accused and recovered a country-made pistol used in the murder.
