In a successful crackdown on property crime, Sitamarhi police arrested seven individuals involved in a series of iron rod thefts across the district. The arrested suspects have been identified as Guddu Kumar, Bablu Kumar, Mukesh Kumar, Mausam Kumar, Sachin Kumar, Rajesh Kumar, and Ravindra Kumar—all residents of Sitamarhi.
The police recovered a truck loaded with stolen iron rods along with six mobile phones from the possession of the accused.
According to Sadar SDPO Ram Krishna, the group had been operating in the Sursand, Runnisaidpur, and Riga areas. They conducted reconnaissance of godowns in February and March, identifying targets before carrying out thefts during vulnerable hours.
The arrests came as a result of detailed tracking and field surveillance. Authorities are now investigating whether the gang is connected to other theft incidents in the region.
