Vijayapura, Karnataka and Samastipur, Bihar – October 13: Police have arrested seven suspects in connection with the daring Rs21 crore robbery at the State Bank of India (SBI) branch in Chadchan town, Vijayapura district, Karnataka.
On September 16, at around 6:30 PM, three masked men armed with country-made pistols and knives stormed the SBI branch in Chadchan. They overpowered and tied up the staff before escaping with:
Over Rs1 crore in cash
Approximately 20 kg of gold ornaments valued at around Rs20 crore
The crime was reported by the branch manager, Tarakeshwar, who filed an FIR that initiated the investigation.
Four men were arrested by police in Vijayapura, Karnataka, as part of the ongoing probe into the robbery.
Separately, three suspects identified as Rakesh Kumar Sahani (22), Rajkumar Ramlal Paswan (21), and Rakshak Kumar (21) were arrested in Samastipur district, Bihar, in connection with the case.
Police confirmed that the group operated in coordination, possibly linked by a wider criminal network. Efforts are underway to recover the stolen cash and gold.
