BUTLER COUNTY, Kan. (KAKE) — A joint operation aimed at combatting human trafficking in Butler County led to the arrest of seven men on various sex crime charges.
On March 21, the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, along with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Andover Police Department, and El Dorado Police Department, conducted a coordinated counter-human trafficking operation. The initiative, supported by ICTSOS—a local advocacy group providing resources to trafficking survivors—aimed to deter human trafficking and sex crimes in the area.
Throughout the operation, investigators offered assistance and pathways to survivors of trafficking. Ten individuals involved in commercial sex work were engaged, and resources for their safety and recovery were provided. During the course of the operation, one suspect was identified as a sex trafficker and arrested for promoting the sale of sexual services.
The operation also led to the identification and arrest of six men who were attempting to purchase sexual relations from a minor. These individuals have been arrested and charged with multiple serious felony offenses:
Kimron Charvell Burris (31): Aggravated human trafficking, electronic solicitation of a child, commercial sexual exploitation of a child, and driving while suspended.
Shane Anthony Pitman (39): Aggravated human trafficking, sexual exploitation of a child, commercial sexual exploitation of a child, indecent solicitation of a child, and promoting obscenity/distributing obscene material.
Jose Campos-Urrutia (36): Aggravated human trafficking, electronic solicitation of a child, commercial sexual exploitation of a child, and indecent solicitation of a child.
Andrew Jordan Bikar (22): Aggravated human trafficking, electronic solicitation of a child, commercial sexual exploitation of a child, indecent solicitation of a child, and promoting obscenity/distributing obscene material.
Anthony Joseph Blakely (35): Awaiting charges of aggravated human trafficking, electronic solicitation of a child, commercial sexual exploitation of a child, sexual exploitation of a child, and indecent solicitation of a child.
Joseph Frank Patrick III (31): Awaiting charges of aggravated human trafficking, electronic solicitation of a child, commercial sexual exploitation of a child, aggravated indecent liberties with a child, and indecent solicitation of a child.
Alexander Jamal Lane: Arrested for promoting the sale of sexual services.
Butler County Sheriff’s Office emphasized that the operation was carefully designed to send a message to those willing to exploit victims in the area, creating both a perception of risk for traffickers and hope for those being exploited. Authorities worked to not only dismantle these sex crimes but to offer freedom and a path to recovery for the victims of trafficking.
This operation is a part of ongoing efforts by local and federal law enforcement to combat human trafficking and sex crimes in the region.
