Kasaba police in Palakkad have arrested Setti Mani, also known as Manimaran, 41, a native of Warangal, Telangana, for breaking into three unoccupied houses in Pratibha Nagar, Kalmandapam, on May 14.
Police investigations revealed that Manimaran has been involved in more than 70 burglaries and thefts across Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka.
On the night of May 14, Manimaran entered the Pratibha Nagar housing colony by covering his face and body to avoid detection. He carefully targeted three unoccupied homes, stealing Rs7.5 lakh from one, Rs25,000 from another, and Rs5,000 from the third.
The accused has been taken into custody, and police are continuing to investigate his other possible crimes in the region.
