Sethuraman Held for Vadavalli Heist, 23 Sovereigns Found

Daylight burglary at Sundapalayam; Rs2.5L stolen

Coimbatore City Police have arrested a 32-year-old man in connection with a burglary that took place in broad daylight near Vadavalli on April 22, resulting in the theft of gold and cash worth several lakhs.

The arrested man, C. Sethuraman, a resident of Selvapuram, was identified as the main suspect in the burglary at the house of R. Palanisamy (75) of S.M. Nagar, Sundapalayam.

The accused allegedly broke into Palanisamy’s home during the day and made off with:

Over 28 sovereigns of gold jewellery

Rs2.5 lakh in cash

Following a detailed investigation, police were able to trace and apprehend Sethuraman.
Upon arrest, authorities recovered 23 sovereigns of gold jewellery from his possession. Efforts are underway to locate the remaining valuables.

Police have registered a case and are continuing the investigation to determine whether the accused was part of a larger burglary network or acted alone.
