Authorities in Texas foiled a mass casualty attack after arresting 21-year-old Seth “Andrea” Gregori on Monday morning. Gregori is accused of making terroristic threats with clear intent to ambush and kill police officers in Corpus Christi, Texas. Court records obtained by ABC News reveal Gregori had detailed plans and steps taken to carry out the attack.
The investigation began after a friend of Gregori’s tipped off police on February 6, 2025, revealing that Gregori was in possession of an AR-15 pistol and had been openly expressing a desire to kill Corpus Christi police officers. According to the affidavit, the friend sent authorities text messages indicating that Gregori had been planning a “Dallas-style” attack, similar to the 2016 shooting in Dallas that killed five police officers and wounded nine others.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) was immediately notified, prompting an investigation. The FBI secured an arrest warrant for Gregori after reviewing the suspect’s messages, which reportedly included 71 pages of evidence. Among these were 19 images from the 2016 Dallas shooting and pictures of Gregori stalking local officers. In several messages, Gregori allegedly mentioned targeting “white cops” while avoiding “black and Mexican cops.”
In one alarming text, Gregori reportedly said, “Yes, I’ve planned on shooting and killing cops as much as I could like Micah planned it for years,” referencing Micah Johnson, the shooter behind the 2016 Dallas ambush. The affidavit also indicated that Gregori had taken photos of police officers without their knowledge while reenacting the Dallas shooting scenario.
The arrest prevented what authorities believe could have been a devastating attack on the Corpus Christi Police Department. The FBI’s Houston office confirmed that Gregori had carefully planned the ambush to take place in downtown Corpus Christi, targeting only police officers and avoiding civilian casualties.
