A Newbern daycare employee has been arrested following allegations of child abuse.
Savannah Alexander, 22, is facing two counts of assault after an investigation into a reported incident at Smarty Tots Too daycare in Newbern, Tennessee. The alleged assault occurred in December 2025.
According to the Newbern Police Department, officers conducted a thorough investigation into the report. Police Chief Greg Barr emphasized the department’s commitment to the safety and well-being of children, noting that they take all reports of abuse seriously.
Alexander is scheduled to appear before a Newbern Municipal Court judge, where her bond will be determined. Authorities thanked the families and staff for their cooperation during the investigation.
