In a major crackdown on narcotics, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) has arrested Dharminder Singh, husband of Raipur Mandlan village sarpanch Sarabjeet Kaur, and seized a massive quantity of drugs along with luxury vehicles.
The raid led to the confiscation of three luxury cars, including two SUVs, and a huge cache of drugs—70 kg of poppy husk, 50 kg of poppy straw, 77 kg of ganja, 250 grams of opium, and Rs13 lakh in drug money.
According to the police, Dharminder has a notorious past with over 10 criminal cases, including liquor smuggling and violations under the Excise Act. He has now been booked under various sections of the NDPS Act, further strengthening the case against him.
This high-profile arrest has drawn attention due to Dharminder’s close ties to local governance through his wife, the elected sarpanch. Authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover more links in the drug distribution network operating in the region.
