Santosh, Ritesh Among 4 Held in Mangaluru Diesel Theft

1,685 litres of diesel, petrol worth Rs3.5L seized

In a successful operation, Mangaluru city police busted a diesel theft racket operating in the tanker yard at Bala village, Mangaluru taluk, and arrested four individuals involved in the scheme.

The arrested persons have been identified as:

Santosh (42) of Kulaigudde

Ritesh (36) of Katipalla

Narayana (23), a tanker driver from Kadirudyavar

Ravi Janardan Putran (59) of Hejamady

Based on a tip-off, police conducted a raid and recovered 1,685 litres of stolen diesel and a significant quantity of petrol, all stored illegally by the accused. Authorities also seized four mobile phones allegedly used in the operation. The total fuel seizure includes diesel worth Rs2,02,000 and petrol worth Rs1,52,000, bringing the total to Rs3.54 lakh.

The Suratkal Police have registered a case and are continuing investigations to uncover possible links to a larger fuel smuggling network.
