In a grim episode that has shocked locals, Verna Police have arrested two individuals in connection with a brutal murder at a poultry farm in Cortalim, Goa. The accused have been identified as Santosh Indar Mallick (22) and Pradhan Nalika Mandal (35), both hailing from Mohana Gajapati, Odisha.

The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon when the duo allegedly attacked Anil Muthamajhi (20) and Jihusaya Mandal (39) with knives. Anil succumbed to his injuries, while Jihusaya remains under medical care.

Investigations revealed that the attack was triggered by a past enmity, not merely a dispute over free chicken, as initially speculated. During police interrogation, both accused confessed to the crime and detailed their motive.

Verna Police continue to investigate the case further.
