In a major breakthrough, Santosh Kumar Pradhan and Rakesh Mukhi were arrested for burglary after stealing approximately 0.5 kg of silver from a jewelry shop in CRP Square, Bhubaneswar, on the midnight of Sunday.

The arrests came when the newly enhanced Police Control Room (PCR) van, part of a focused patrol system, intercepted two individuals acting suspiciously near Nayapalli. According to Bhubaneswar Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Jagmohan Meena, the operation aimed at verifying late-night movements and vehicles without number plates led to the detention of the two suspects. Upon inspection, 0.5 kg of stolen silver was found in their possession.

Further interrogation revealed that Pradhan and Mukhi had looted the jewelry shop in CRP Square. In addition to the stolen silver found on the accused, investigators were able to recover an additional 1 kg of silver from another location.

A case has been registered at Nayapalli Police Station under case number 122 in the burglary section. DCP Meena also praised Sub-Inspector Subha Prakash Mohanty for his crucial role in the successful patrol operation, which led to the arrests.
