In a shocking act of domestic violence, a woman in Odisha’s Sundargarh district allegedly killed her husband during a heated argument. The accused, Sangita Bara (24), surrendered to police at Kansbahal outpost shortly after the incident.
The murder took place late Saturday night in Kadalidhipa village under Sagjore panchayat. According to police reports, Sangita and her husband, Sudip Bara (32), got into a fierce altercation over a family issue. In a fit of rage, Sangita reportedly picked up a crowbar and struck Sudip on the head.
The impact rendered him unconscious, and he died from his injuries a short time later. After realizing the gravity of her actions, Sangita took her two young sons and walked to the local police outpost to confess.
A police team, including the Rajgangpur SDPO and a scientific unit, reached the crime scene early Sunday morning to investigate. Sangita has been arrested, and police are continuing to probe the circumstances leading to the fatal incident.
