SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio man is facing serious drug and firearms charges after deputies discovered a large quantity of methamphetamine and multiple weapons following a chase and crash on the city’s West Side.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation began on December 12, 2025, during a drug-related search near Cagnon Road and Hwy 90. Deputies attempted to stop a truck driven by Mikal Mireles, but he fled, leading them on a chase that ended at State Highway 151 and Hunt Lane when he collided with another vehicle. Mireles attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended.
Officers found about eight ounces of methamphetamine inside the truck. A subsequent search of Mireles’ home uncovered another 32 ounces, bringing the total to roughly 40 ounces.
Seventeen firearms were also seized, including four reported stolen, untraceable “ghost guns,” firearms with illegal modifications, a rifle suppressor, digital scales, and drug packaging materials.
Mireles was booked into the Bexar County Jail on charges of evading arrest with a vehicle and manufacturing or delivering a controlled substance exceeding 200 grams. Additional gun-related charges are expected.
