BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. — A Calabash man has been arrested on multiple felony charges related to the sexual exploitation of a minor, according to the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO).
Authorities said Samuel Nicholas White Jr., 35, was taken into custody on Wednesday, Jan. 7. He faces eight counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and eight counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
BCSO officials said the arrest resulted from an investigation conducted through the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, a nationwide program focused on identifying and prosecuting individuals involved in online child exploitation.
White was processed at the Brunswick County Detention Facility, where he remains in custody.
In a statement posted on social media, the sheriff’s office praised its Special Victims Unit investigators for their professionalism and dedication to protecting children in the community.
