EDEN, NC – (BTW21) On March 27, 2025, the Eden Police Department made a major drug-related arrest following a routine traffic stop on a 2001 Dodge Neon. The stop led to the discovery of a large amount of narcotics, resulting in the arrest of 32-year-old Samuel Southern from Stokes County.
Southern now faces multiple serious charges, including:
Manufacturing, Selling, and Distributing a Controlled Substance within 1,000 Feet of a Park (Felony)
Possession of Cocaine (Felony)
Possession of Methamphetamine (Felony)
Possession with Intent to Sell or Distribute (PWISD) Cocaine (Felony)
Possession with Intent to Sell or Distribute (PWISD) Schedule III Controlled Substance (Felony)
Possession with Intent to Sell or Distribute (PWISD) Schedule IV Controlled Substance (Felony) x2
Maintaining a Dwelling for the Purpose of Selling a Controlled Substance (Felony)
Possession of Schedule III Controlled Substance (Misdemeanor)
Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substance (Misdemeanor) x2
Following the arrest, Samuel Southern was transported to the Rockingham County Magistrate’s Office, where a secure bond of $300,000 was set. He is scheduled to appear in Wentworth District Court on April 1, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.
