SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. — A stolen firearm has been recovered and a suspect arrested following an investigation by the Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities identified 37-year-old Samuel Rohrer as a primary suspect after a victim reported that a .45 caliber handgun and an AR-15 were missing from their home on Saturday.
A search of Rohrer’s residence in Scottsbluff led to the recovery of the missing handgun, along with baggies containing suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl. He now faces charges of Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person and two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Rohrer was arraigned Monday in Scotts Bluff County Court, with bond set at $75,000 at 10 percent. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 17.
Court filings do not indicate whether the AR-15 has been recovered.
