The Central East Regional Police Command has arrested 25-year-old Samuel Okolie in connection with a robbery at Millennium City in the Gomoa East District of Ghana’s Central Region.
On Thursday, July 10, 2025, at approximately 5:30 a.m., Okolie allegedly attacked a female victim and stole her handbag containing an iPhone 16 Pro Max and a purse with cash. Following the incident, Okolie fled and hid in Ngleshie Amanfro, where police launched an intelligence-led operation to apprehend him.
A search of Okolie uncovered the stolen iPhone, which the victim identified, along with several other items believed to be stolen: one Dell laptop, two itel phones, one Nokia phone, one Alcatel phone, one Vodafone WiFi device, two pairs of AirPods, a gold necklace, three wristwatches, a ladies’ purse, a wallet containing a health insurance card in the name of Kwapong Sahnan, and ten memory cards.
Okolie is currently cooperating with authorities as investigations continue. Police have urged anyone who may have been victimized by Okolie to come forward.
This arrest underscores the Command’s ongoing commitment to crime fighting. Recently, on July 8, the Command secured a 25-year sentence with hard labor for another robbery suspect involved in a highway attack at Gomoa Dabanyin.
