On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, Sammar Khan, 42, of Levittown, pleaded guilty to third-degree murder in connection with the May 2023 shooting death of her husband, Faisal Iqbal, at the Bristol Borough Wharf.
Khan appeared before Common Pleas Judge Jeffrey L. Finley to enter an open guilty plea for the killing. She also pleaded guilty to possession of an instrument of crime and recklessly endangering another person. Sentencing is scheduled for September 30.
The charges stem from an incident on May 30, 2023, when Bristol Borough Police responded at 10:53 a.m. to reports of a shooting at 1 Mill Street. Officers found Khan at the scene with blood on her clothing and discovered 38-year-old Faisal Iqbal deceased in a nearby grassy area with visible gunshot wounds. A firearm was recovered at the scene.
Witnesses told detectives from the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office and Bristol Borough Police Department that Khan and Iqbal had been conversing near the coastline. Witnesses reported hearing Khan speaking loudly in another language, followed by a “pop” sound.
Iqbal, who had been seated, stood and wrestled with Khan as more gunshots rang out. The two moved toward the parking lot, where Iqbal reportedly told a witness to call 911.
Witnesses observed Khan shoot Iqbal two additional times, causing him to collapse. As he lay on the ground, Khan allegedly approached and shot him twice more in the torso and once in the head.
The investigation was led by detectives from the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office and Bristol Borough Police Department. Chief Deputy District Attorney Kristin M. McElroy and Assistant District Attorney Rebekah Van Der Werf prosecuted the case.
