In a swift breakthrough, a team from Basistha Police Station solved a mobile snatching case reported on October 31, 2025, in Sawkuchi, Guwahati, with the arrest of the accused and recovery of the stolen property.
The accused, Samir Ali (24), a resident of Datalpara, Milan Nagar Path, was apprehended following prompt investigation efforts by the police.
Officers recovered the stolen Realme 11 Pro+ 5G mobile phone along with the TVS Ntorq 125 scooter used in the commission of the crime. The seizure also included an Oppo mobile phone and the unregistered scooter without a number plate.
Police have initiated legal action against the accused under relevant provisions of law. Officials commended the quick response of the Basistha team for their timely and effective action that led to the recovery and arrest within days of the incident.
