MIAMI — Two women were arrested early Friday morning following a stabbing incident at The Studio lounge in Miami, police confirmed.
The altercation occurred around 12:30 a.m. at The Studio, located at 652 NE Second Ave. According to police, video footage from the venue shows the victim speaking with a man when Samantha Davis, 33, suddenly sat directly behind her.
A fight quickly erupted between Davis and the victim, with Jasmine Paisley, 24, joining in and striking the victim as well.
As security attempted to separate the trio, the victim was found to have a 2-3 inch laceration on her mid-back. Despite the separation, Davis approached and continued to strike the victim, followed by Paisley delivering multiple blows after security intervened.
The victim told police that Davis had warned her to leave her seat and threatened to beat her up if she did not comply.
An off-duty officer working at the lounge was flagged down after the fight. He located the injured victim, who identified Davis and Paisley. The officer then escorted the two women outside and instructed them to stay seated on a bench. However, both attempted to flee before officers detained them.
Samantha Davis was charged with aggravated battery and resisting an officer without violence. Jasmine Paisley faced charges of battery and resisting an officer without violence.
As of Friday morning, Paisley was being held on a $1,500 bond, while Davis’ bond was yet to be determined. Both are held at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
