A 23-year-old man, Salman, has been arrested in Gujarat for the brutal murder of a mentally challenged woman, Seejan, near Adarsh Nagar Railway Station. The victim was stabbed on her face and head, and her body was abandoned in shrubs on November 16.
Police described Salman as a “psycho killer” and tracked him using CCTV footage and a pair of slippers left at the crime scene. The investigation spanned multiple regions before a tip-off led authorities to Vedach, Gujarat, where Salman was apprehended.
During interrogation, Salman reportedly confessed to the killing. He has a prior criminal record, including charges of robbery and a heinous crime involving the kidnapping and sexual assault of a minor.
The arrest brings relief to the local community while highlighting the persistence and coordination of police efforts in tracking a dangerous criminal across state lines.
