In a major drug bust, a team from the Special Task Force (STF), led by Additional SP Kalyan Kr. Pathak, intercepted a vehicle at Amingaon, which was coming from Jirighat near the Assam-Manipur border. Upon conducting a thorough search of the vehicle, STF officials recovered 41 soap boxes containing 533 grams of heroin, with an estimated market value of approximately Rs 4 crore.

The two individuals apprehended in connection with this operation have been identified as Sajidul Laskar (the driver) and Mrinal Hussain (the co-driver). Both are residents of Makhon Nagar in Jirighat. The vehicle used for transporting the heroin was also seized by the STF team during the operation.

Legal action has been initiated against the arrested individuals as part of the ongoing investigation into the illegal drug trade. The STF’s swift action has helped thwart a significant drug trafficking operation in the region.
