A shocking development has come to light in the murder of Hamlath, 62, who lived alone in Ottappana, near Thotappally, Alappuzha. Hamlath was found dead in her bedroom on August 17.
Initially, the police had arrested Abubacker, a local resident, on suspicion of raping and murdering her. However, further investigations revealed that the actual perpetrators were Sainulabdeen, 43, from Thrikkunnapuzha, and his wife Aneesha, who killed Hamlath during a burglary attempt. Both have now been arrested.
Police are continuing their investigation to uncover the full circumstances of the crime and any possible accomplices.
