On April 24, Sakinaka Police successfully apprehended Sadiq Salim Shaikh (28) with 53 grams of Mephedrone (MD), which led to further investigations revealing the involvement of Siraj Sultan Panjwani (57), who was arrested soon after. The authorities believe the operation was part of a larger drug trafficking network.
Following Sadiq’s arrest and interrogation, the police received crucial intelligence about drug trafficking activities in the Vasai area. A cement factory near Kaman Gaon was identified as a key location for the illegal operations. Acting swiftly on the information, police raided the factory and uncovered a massive stash of Mephedrone.
In total, law enforcement seized approximately 4 kilograms and 53 grams of Mephedrone, with a street value estimated at Rs8 crore 15 lakh. The drugs were found in large quantities, indicating the scale of the operation.
The police have filed charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and have begun legal proceedings against those involved. Further investigations are underway as the authorities continue to dismantle the drug trafficking network operating in the region.
