Saddam Raeen Arrested for Stabbing Over Rs 20,000 Dispute

Kalewadi Police Detain Accomplice in Fruit Vendor Attack

Kaleawadi, Pimpri Chinchwad: Police have arrested Saddam Raeen (34) and his accomplice Mohammed Sharif Khan (30) in connection with the fatal stabbing of Hashim Raeen, a resident of Vijaynagar, following a Rs 20,000 dispute.

The incident occurred on Tuesday night when the complainant and his cousin, both involved in fruit stalls across Pimpri Chinchwad, were confronted by the accused over pending payments. During the altercation, the accused allegedly abused and assaulted the cousin.

When Hashim Raeen and other family members arrived to intervene, Saddam Raeen restrained Hashim while Mohammed Sharif Khan allegedly stabbed him. Hashim was immediately taken to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Police confirmed that the accused have been booked under Sections 103 (murder), 109 (attempt to murder), and 115 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Investigations are ongoing to uncover any further details.

Sub-Inspector Balaji Mete of Kalewadi police stated that the dispute stemmed from halted fruit purchases after payment disagreements. Both accused are residents of Kapse Chawl, Vijaynagar, and originally hail from Ballia district, Uttar Pradesh.
